What makes me tick?
I like the buzz of helping clients acquire their ideal homes or extend their investment portfolios. I love delivering on my promises and delighting clients. I enjoy working closely with fellow professionals to ensure smooth transactions with minimal stress and maximum satisfaction all round. When the inevitable challenges arise, I like finding practical solutions and providing reassurance and confidence that comes with years of experience.
My experience
I started as a trainee legal executive in Scunthorpe in 1988. I moved across to Hull in 1996 and have been travelling over the river on a daily basis ever since. I spent 7 years heading up the Conveyancing and Probate Department at a long-established firm before joining a larger firm to head up a busy team in their Conveyancing department and latterly, Private Client fields for 10 years. Since joining James Legal in April 2014, I have rediscovered a passion for delivering excellent customer service whilst enjoying a healthier work/life balance.
Outside of work
I take a keen interest in the arts and can be found front of house at a busy arts centre in Barton most weekends. I am currently half way through a part-time degree in Creative Writing at the University of Hull. I am also an avid nature lover. I undertake marine surveys recording sightings of whales, dolphins and seabirds for a marine conservation charity. I have recently become one of their trustees. I volunteer on the RSPB boat trips from Bridlington in the Spring and Autumn. I live alone with my cat, Cassius. My son, Jack moved out recently to share a house with his girlfriend. He left so many dirty pots and washing, I didn’t notice he’d gone until there were some eggs left.
What I do?

- Property Sales
- Property Purchase
