What makes me tick?
I feel motivated by helping people, taking the time to talk to clients and ensuring I can give my best to get to the heart of their problems. Understandably, people often worry and feel intimidated when coming to solicitors for legal advice, and I will always approach our clients with a kind and reassuring outlook on any situation. I always aim to explain the law in as simple a way as possible, keeping things straight forward and clear. That is one of the main ideologies of James Legal – that we are a friendly and approachable firm providing jargon free legal advice.
My experience
Whilst studying law at the University of Hull, I worked at the Hull Combined Court Centre on the Civil Section and in the Crown Court. I gained first-hand experience of working with the public. When people came in for advice, I often felt that I wanted to be able to advise and help them, more than I was able to in that role. This fuelled my decision to embark on a legal career. I was over the moon when I started at James Legal in October 2023.
Outside of work
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My friends and I like to go for long walks (if the weather is good) and I try to keep fit by going to the gym. I like to challenge myself with my fitness – I ran the Jane Tomlinson 10KM Race in 2023 and will be participating again in 2024. I plan on taking part in the Barcelona marathon in years to come. However, most of all, I love being in the sun so I will be best found on holiday laying on the sun lounger reading a good book.
